Mama Day

Our reading of Mama Day will focus on three main areas.

1. Mama Day is a retelling of William Shakespeare's The Tempest.
2. Mama Day is a work of Magical Realism.
3. Mama Day depicts Gullah/Geechee culture.

Sometime in the first week of our treatment of the novel, you should select which treatment of the novel you'd like to pursue. Once you've selected an area of treatment, I will divide each treatment area into groups. Your group will establish a reading schedule.  You will choose some basic deadlines for the completion of your project:

• Materials identification deadline
• Materials acquisition deadline
• Project proposal deadline
• Project completion date
• Project presentation
